OxySure® Systems, Inc. was founded in early 2004 to develop and commercialize better, safer and more inexpensive oxygen products for short duration or emergency duration applications. The company successfully developed a unique platform technology that creates medically pure oxygen from two dry, inert proprietary powders. With this technology, oxygen is generated on demand. There is no storage of oxygen. There are no compressed tanks, no dials, no valves, no regulatory maintenance, no hydrostatic testing, no batteries, no required training, and none of the hazards associated with traditional oxygen provision systems. The Company has been issued numerous patents and has many more patents pending on this groundbreaking technology, which creates a new category for the availability and accessibility of medical oxygen for anyone who needs it.
The company launched the first product based on this technology, a lightweight, portable emergency oxygen device. It is called the OxySure Model 615, which is approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for over the counter sale, without the need for a prescription.
The OxySure Model 615 empowers anyone to save a life. It is safe and simple to use, and provides oxygen instantly with the turn of a knob. It can be used by any lay person, and bridges the gap between the onset of a medical emergency and the time that the first responders arrive on the scene. In the US, that gap can be anywhere between 6 and 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions and other factors. If the medical emergency is of a cardiovascular nature, this gap can be critical, since irreparable damage to, for example brain tissue can occur starting after minute 2 or minute 3 of oxygen deprivation.
OxySure’s award-winning products are being used in a fast growing number of schools, homes, businesses, churches, corporate and government buildings across the US and internationally. The OxySure Model 615 is like the oxygen equivalent of a fire extinguisher - it provides a safety net in the event of a medical emergency. It can be placed/pre-positioned in public settings (by itself, and/or next to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)), in commercial and industrial buildings, and in the home, and has been successfully used in hundreds of saves in a very short time.
