OxySure® spent many years of research and filed dozens of worldwide patents on a unique technology that creates medically pure (USP) oxygen from two inert powders. In August 2007, the company launched the first product based on this technology, a Portable Emergency Oxygen Generator. It is called the OxySure® Model 615, and it is approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for over the counter sale, without the need for a prescription.

The OxySure® Model 615 bridges the gap between the onset of the medical emergency and the time that the first responders get on the scene. In the US, that gap can be anywhere between 6 and 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions and other factors. If the medical emergency is of a cardiovascular nature, this gap can be critical, since irreparable damage to, for example brain tissue can occur starting at minute 2 or minute 3 of oxygen deprivation. The OxySure® Model 615 is like the oxygen equivalent of a fire extinguisher - it provides a safety net in the event of a medical emergency.
